Jamie Covello Biography

Nationally recognized as a leader throughout the real estate industry, Jamie Covello's career has always included building an unparalleled book of business and seamlessly fostering close corporate relationships.

 

Jamie applies her many years of national and global experience in strategic planning, deal management, and negotiations in all aspects of commercial real estate, including corporate occupier advisory, portfolio rationalization, and portfolio-wide transaction management. Jamie's years of experience in the local New York City market have resulted in a wide array of transactional wisdom that she consistently applies in the competitive management of each stage of lease negotiations and/or capital markets acquisitions, benefiting her local and global clients.

 

While Jamie's focus includes high-growth and emerging companies, Fortune 500 companies and household name brands have been long-term clients. Jamie's trusted and extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, pre-acquisition due diligence, and headquarters rationalization results in secure, efficient closings for her clients.

 

Jamie was one of the early leaders in the practice of exclusive national representation, which consists of expertise beyond brokerage. These areas include workplace programming, architecture, project management, appraisal, and structured finance. Her success is grounded in the single point of contact model (SPOC) as a trusted advisor. Jamie became a Cushman & Wakefield principal for the last 15 years of her 30-year tenure until they transitioned into a public entity. Cushman & Wakefield relied on Jamie's expertise in the yearly planning of the corporate-wide annual meeting. She was also active on the steering committee of Artemis and was honored to chair the Cushman & Wakefield Ethics Committee.

More recently, Jamie Covello, LLC has added hospitality expertise to its services in partnership with a premier firm, Ironstone Group to serve clients requiring all aspects of acquisition, disposition, equity, and debt sourcing, along with brand selection.

  

Passions include macro paradigm shifts in the corporate environment, emerging convergent technologies, and consensus building for common ground trends in politics.

Philip R. Weiss is a Senior Managing Director of Savills | New York which he joined in
July 20124. Prior to Savills he was President/CEO of AttentivRE which he founded in
2018. While at AttentivRE is was President/CEO for iLoftSpace WorkPlaces (a
coworking space company) and ExponentialRE (a real estate advisory company), both
of which he founded in 2011. Over his 45+ years as a real estate executive, Mr. Weiss
has completed more than 20 million square feet of commercial real estate
transactions. His broad professional experience includes an extensive range of
impressive transactions, structuring of highly complex building sales and multiple
financing transactions for office buildings, hotels, and commercial condominium
interests.
Prior to AttentivRE, Mr. Weiss was an Executive Director for the global real estate firm,
Colliers International and a Senior Director at Cushman & Wakefield (“C&W”) in the
brokerage division of its NY world headquarters. Prior to C&W, he was employed by
global brokerage firm, CB Richard Ellis (the successor company to Insignia/ESG and
the Edward S. Gordon Company) as a Senior Vice President, where he represented
numerous large tenants and executed various large-scale sales transactions.
Prior to his real estate practice, Mr. Weiss was a project architect with the global
architectural firm, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and worked for several other NY-based
architectural design companies. He also founded his own architectural firm, P.R.
Weiss + Associates, which focused on the design and construction of Manhattan office
space.
Mr. Weiss is a member of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association, the
Real Estate Board of New York and a licensed broker in the State of New York. He is
also a licensed architect in the State of New York and attended Carnegie Mellon
University in Pittsburgh, PA where he earned a bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Carolyn is an industry veteran with over 30 years’ experience - across all real estate asset types and throughout the capital stack. She has experience that can help; whether the focus is on straightforward asset dispositions, portfolio assessments/valuations, asset management assignments, workouts,highly complex situations involving litigation, operator and partner replacement, or challenging stakeholder situations.

During her tenure in the industry, Ms. Pianin has underwritten and closed over a $5 billion of investments and managed over 50 million SF of commercial real estate assets, approximately 8,000 multi-family units and more than a dozen hotels. She possesses a broad-based knowledge of asset management, restructuring and underwriting of both equity and debt positions, with direct experience dealing with all levels of the capital stack, including equity, senior secured debt, subordinated notes and mezzanine financing. With the intelligence gathered from these experiences, she has been able to thoughtfully advise clients on complex situations and workouts.
